What to Expect
Throughout the many years I have been tutoring math, I have heard students describe their struggles with finding videos that match what they are learning in class and that they can understand. My students’ voices and needs were the impetus for me to create this online video suite for Algebra 2. I have made it very simple to understand and easy to navigate. Each video corresponds to a section in the Big Ideas Algebra 2 program. Students need only to search for section and topic to find what they need so there is no time wasted searching for YouTube videos that are not helpful. This video suite and course packet consist of two separate semesters of extensive math support (tons of videos and practice problems with worked out solutions) for a fraction of the cost of a tutor.

Meet Your Instructor
Hello! I am the founder of Atrium Academics and the author and instructor for this Algebra 2 course. I have a B.S. in Applied Math and Economics from UCLA and an M.S. in Engineering from Stanford, and I have been solving math problems since before I can remember. However, my teaching style is to put myself in the place of the student who has not seen this material before and who may not gravitate to math naturally. It is with this compassionate approach that I have successfully taught many students nationwide. My true joy in teaching math is to encourage students to uncover their gift for learning, find their math ability, and help them feel confident and empowered in their math classes.

Will this course help my child in Algebra 2?
Absolutely! Every type of problem that your child will see in Algebra 2 is worked out in the lesson videos in detail with explanations. And, each section has a video that teaches the material in a way that has been successful for many, many students.
What if my child needs more help with math fundamentals?
If your child is struggling with math fundamentals which precede Algebra 2, they can take the Get Ready for Algebra 1 Course or individual tutoring sessions are always available for an additional cost.
What if my child has already started their Algebra 2 course?
That’s fine! These lesson videos and course packet span the entire Algebra 2 curriculum. Your child will benefit from reviewing the videos of material they have seen and learning new material with the course videos and lesson packet.
Will my child have any supporting materials to take to their Algebra 2 course?
Yes! Included with these videos is an over 800 page course packet with all the information your child ever needs to know about Algebra 2!
Why are practice problems for this course completed with pencil and paper?
The key to success in math is to do lots of problems with pencil and paper. The tactile and kinesthetic quality of writing math problems and solving them without technology uses multiple parts of the brain simultaneously, thereby creating thicker and longer-lasting neural pathways. Studies have shown focus and math retention improve when work is done with pencil and paper. Read here for more information.
How does this class compare to individual math tutoring?
For a fraction of the cost of math tutoring, your student will have me as an instructor for the entire semester or year, and a course packet to clarify any questions that come up for them in their Algebra 2 class as well as while doing homework – a bargain!
